General Car Tuning
Everywhere you look you see stock cars or lite modified cars. Tuning makes your car look different from others. When you tune a car you try to make it represent you, your driving style and everything else about you.
If you want more power from your car you need to tune the engine.
Engine tuning involves replacing of basic engine components with aftermarket versions that perform more power. The most replaced parts are the turbochargers, the engine cooling unit and the air filters. The engine and the transmission can be replaced too.
For better handling the car needs suspension tuning.
Tuning the suspension is about modifying or replacing the shock absorbers, springs, sway bars and other vehicle components. Lowering the ride height by installing shorter springs makes the car look better on the road and handle better at the same time.
If you want the car to look better you need body tuning.
Body tuning is about adding or modifying parts such as spoilers, bumpers, body kits and other body parts. A good body kit gives better aerodynamics to the car and makes it look better.
To make the car more comfortable you tune the interior of the car.
When you tune the interior you remove the back seats to put a sound system on that place; change the front seats with sport seats; add a roll cage for more safety; replace the gauges and the steering wheel; replace door panels and the dashboard.
For more sound performance you can tune the audio.
Audio tuning is about adding or replacing the stock speakers with powerful speakers and adding some amplifiers for those speakers. The sound system can be placed in the trunk, on the door panels or on the back seats place.
The most commonly modified cars are Japanese cars such as Toyota Supra, Mazda rx-7, Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, Nissan Skyline and the Nissan Silvia.
